About Me

Hello, I’m Anthea. I am the manager, editor, photographer and owner here at Anthea Michel Photography. I love photography its my passion and I feel honored every time a client puts their trust in me to capture their family during the most treasured times in their lives. When your baby is growing in your tummy, then in the first few weeks of your little ones life, as they sprout up, and one day even when they meet that special someone.

I ‘ve been shooting photos for about ten years now. I started my photography journey with a great love for art. My entire life I have been a creative person, I love to create all kinds of arts, crafts, and projects. You will often notice a project or two going on in my home. I love to paint furniture and find a fun new Pinterest project to tackle every now and then.

Originally I am from Sault Ste. Marie and moved to Barrie for school. I started at Georgian College in the Fine Arts Advanced program and later switched over to the Digital Photography program. Ultimately finishing my studies With a Degree in Fine Arts majoring in Digital Photography.

While at Georgian I met the love of my life and now husband and father to our beautiful boys, Rick. Rick is an amazing father and husband and my biggest support when it comes to life love and happiness. He supports me through everything I do, even when I want to paint the kitchen pink lol.

We live in the small town of New Lowell, on our little piece of heaven. We love the country and every morning I get to wake up and hear the birds chirping away. Our little community is amazing and the people that live here are wonderful. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Which brings me back to my photography, which I would describe as classic, natural, and creative. I love to use a natural backdrop whenever possible, and there are no shortage of those around here. I love to photograph children and babies, families and maternity, as well as weddings and special events. Capturing moments that might have easily been forgotten. Turning them into memories treasured by family and friends for generations to come. A piece of art proudly displayed in your home.
